Shaun West Building Resilience, Mindset and Action for Success

Shaun West is a former British Army Paratrooper turned business coach, who knows what it means to lead under pressure, push through fear, and take action when it matters most. After serving in one of the world’s most elite military units, Shaun transitioned into civilian life where he became a trusted bodyguard for high-profile clients, founded a successful security company, and co-developed a leading career magazine and platform for professionals.

With an MBA in Strategic Management and Leadership, as well as a degree in Security and Risk Management, Shaun now empowers individuals and organisations to achieve consistent growth, build resilience, and lead with purpose.

His workshop is grounded in lived experience – not just theory – and is a high-energy, interactive session designed to unlock each student’s potential and ignite their SPARK:

  • Self-Awareness: Shaun helps students recognise their “red light moments” – the times they hesitate or self-sabotage – and teaches them how to act in spite of fear.
  • Purpose: Through powerful storytelling, Shaun helps students connect their everyday efforts to a bigger purpose, showing them how goals give direction and meaning to their actions.
  • Awareness: Students are encouraged to reflect on the influence of their environment and peer group, learning how to create and contribute to positive, supportive communities.
  • Resilience: Drawing from the intense mental and physical challenges of Paratrooper training, Shaun shares real-world strategies for bouncing back from setbacks and building mental toughness.
  • Kindness: While rooted in discipline and strength, Shaun’s message highlights the power of community, support, and looking out for others – key principles in both military life and personal growth.

This workshop gives students practical tools to take control of their mindset, break big goals into manageable actions, and surround themselves with people who lift them higher. It’s about embracing discomfort, showing up fully, and taking that first leap – whether it’s in the classroom, on the sports field, or in life.

By the end of the session, students walk away not only inspired but equipped: ready to face their own challenges, take decisive action, and lead with confidence and courage.
